Home cinema, using DVD recorder????

Hi,

Relatively newboy to this home cinema game. Was just wondering, is it possible to use a Plasma (PX80), a DVD Recorder (Panasonic DMREX768EBK) and just connect to surround speakers without a receiver.

If so can any one suggest budget speakers that would be an improvement on the Tv speakers.

You will need an amplifier to power the speakers so sorry you can not really do exactly what you are sugesting.

You could if they were active speakers
( have their own built in amplifier that are integral to the speaker)
