Afternoon all

I have a Marantz PM11S1 and SA11S1 with Wilson benesch Arc

I am thinking of adding

Denon 2808 receiver and PMC DB1+ and Centre to make home cinema

and letting the marantz drive the arcs as fronts

Could this be a mistake?

Thanks

I think we discussed this before, and this will certainly work - the only possible fly in the ointment is that the DB1-Centre may have a totally different tonality from the Arcs, so you could get a pronounced tonal shift as soundtrack pans across the front three speakers.

The cure for this is a) get a wilson benesch centre b) audition lots of centre speakers with your WBs to ensure the tonality gels ok [edit - starting with the DB1, obviously, as it may be perfect] or c) miss out the centre all together and let the WBs provide a phantom centre channel - this works ok if the TV is equidistant from the speakers and your viewing position is central.

Thanks, I never had thought about a Phantom Centre, is a centre not needed for dialogue?
