Hi-fi for additional home cinema use

Dear All

I wish to upgrade(?!) my hi-fi for best use when watching movies. Will a subwoofer significantly improve a Roksan K2/B&W 685 combination for DVD/Blu-ray viewing? If so, what recommendations would you give?

I like you am forgoing HT in favour of 2.1 as I can't find any affordable AV stuff that satisfies me musically. Yes, a sub can make a substantial difference not just in movie mode but music too. Choose wisely and I doubt you will regret it.
