Helping an old system...

Hi - I currently have a 12yo system comprising of Sony TAF246E, Sony CDP 761E and Mision 700 speakers (recently deceased.)

I would like to extend the life of the system by adding some new speakers - which are detailed but not harsh. I would hate to get rid of the amp and cd player as they are in perfect condition. The room they are in is 5m x 3m. Would prefer speakers that are easy to drive. Any one any ideas? or is this def not the way to go? Have amps and cd players improved out of sight?

Hi Carl,

It depends on how much you want to spend. For what you have mentioned, I think a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 9.0s will do the job nicely. Spend any more than that, and I think the amp/cd will be the weakest links.
