Where did you get it for that price if you dont mind me asking seems a bargain.

£500 is a SERIOUS bargain! ÿI picked up my RX-V3800 fro £795 last week and thought I'd done well.....

The Yamaha will process all of the HD sound formats, so you need to set your Blu-Ray player to bitstream. ÿMy automatic set-up was OK - distances and levels were spot on, but I had the usual problem of having to reset my speakers to small instead of large and the sub crossover was too high - it should have been around 80hz. ÿResetting those parameters wasn't as easy as it should have been, but I cracked it after a while!

ÿAs I didn't need video processing, I thought that the Yamaha might deliver a superior audio performance - having read some excellent reviews. ÿI bought it from Frank Harvey/HiFix, who post on here, partly on account of their support for this receiver over and above the competition from Onkyo and Denon. ÿSo far, I haven't been disappointed at all. ÿThe kids were captivated by Ratatouille this weekend - it was better than at the cinema - awesome!ÿ

hi got it from Glasgow audio , im now starting to get used to it ive set my bd50 to bit stream ive watched, there's a part in the settings that i dont understand on the receiver where in settings it says DST or auto and when i pick dts i get no sound unless i set it to auto, can any1 help? and any other information on how to get best sound out speakers and sub rel505 would be very grateful thanks
