Help with AV system

hey guys currently got cambridge audio 840c cd player, cambridge audio 640R AV amp with tannoy r2 speakers. I heard the cd & amp in the shop sounded really good but sounding thin & lacking bass with the tannoy R2 speakers. Am thinking of upgrading the speakers to the B&W 684 speakers, Any advice guy. Oh cables interconnect Van den hul the wave. Speaker cables 8VS kimber cables. thanx

Are you sure your speakers are wired in the correct phase?

Check that (+) on the amp goes to (+) on each speaker and correspondingly the (-) to the (-).

Apologies if I'm teaching you to "suck eggs" here, but this is a common mistke yielding the symptoms you describe.
