Help !!! Sony kdl46w4000 or Panasonic TH-46PZ81

Hi all

Im ready to take the plunge into the world of flatscreens. I have about £1500 budget.

Viewing distance is about 3.5 meters and the room has good light control so reflections wont be a problem.

I
have a PS3 and I will have sky hd., sound quality isnt really an
deciding factor as i have decent separates and speakers for that.

The big issue is I cant decide between these two sets Sony
kdl46w4000 or Panasonic TH-46PZ81, I have found them both very similar
priced with 5 yr guarantees. Both look great when i have auditioned
them, but I cant make a clear choice. I'm leaning towards the
Panasonic, however if anyone has any thoughts or advice it would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Best advice I can offer is to examine both sets with a mixture of your own favourite films in as close to 'real life' situation as you can get. If sound isn't an issue between the sets then ask for a demo with the sound turned down so this won't influence your final decision.

Both are good TV's and at the end of the day only you will be able to make the right choice for you.

The biggest difference between the two is the Freesat tuner in the Z81. Did you want Freesat and have you got a dish to feed it?

If not, the Z85 or Z80 will be similar PQ but cheaper.

yeh I have a sky dish.

I've auditioned both screens, I think I will be going with the Panny, but if any one has either of these screens I'd appreciate any feedback on them
