Help Setting Up Yamaha DSP-AX763

I've just bought a Yamaha DSP-AX763 and i have run the automatic set up which detected all the speakers 5.1, yet when i go to play a dvd it will only play in stereo. I've probably done something wrong,but i would apperciate any help.

I also just had my 763 delivered today! "Scene" pre-sets let you choose how the audio from your DVD is played, but have you also checked how your DVD player is set to output the audio? Hopefully it's somethinmg as simple as that.

Also, just a simple check - how is the DVD player hooked into the Yamaha?

Also, check that if you have selected the correct audio input. It is good to keep that on AUTO.

My Sony BDP-S350 is connected up by HDMI cable to amp. But i sat down and had a bit of a play with it to day and when i play a dvd/bd and press the display button on the remote it tells me that i'm getting 5.1 sound.

But i have another question? How do i get the blu-ray player to bitstream the audio so that the amp does the decoding.
