Hi Guys

Hope you can help.

The problem is that i get a picture judder on my tv when watching Blu ray and dvd, the picture is smooth as you like when watching any other format ie sky HD or Xbox. I posted this question a while back when i first purchased the tv, and at the time the general thought was that the TV was to good for the Sony BD player, so yesterday I was passing a shop that had Pioneer BDP330 on offer so i thought i would buy it, retail price was £300 so i though this must be good enough, but no, even worse than the sony, So i really am running out of ideas, ( maybe the Pioneer is also not good enough? ) dont really get why not though.

My System :

TV Pioneer Kuro lx5090

Disc player Sony BDP360. ( also tried a pioneer 330)

Kef 2005.2

Technics surround amp (upgrade due)

Ok so this is what i have tried

1: make sure all motion processing is set to off on the tv, (picture is worse with motion processing on)

2: tried different player Pioneer 330

3: swapped HDMI cable for a different one, (using a QED hdmi)

4: tried different hdmi port on the tv.

5: Ask You guys. 🙂

Also to cap it off, i borowed a few of my Blu ray discs to a friend when he brought an all in one Sony BD player/ speaker combo (total price £250) and the disc plays very smooth on his Sony TV. So i have in theory a much better set up than him that cost 20 times more and i get picture judder. :wall:

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

I have a 5090 with no such problem, so I am guessing set up. Are you connecting directly to the tv or via the amp? If via the amp can you try a direct connection? At least you can eliminate the amp that way.

If a direct connection still shows the problem, I can check my settings if you like.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update, yes its a direct connection, and set to 1080/24p, I kind of found the problem, in that i had the wrong drive mode set on the BD iput on the Tv,

It was set to drive mode 1, should have been 2 or 3, the strange thing is though that the sonly player is now super smooth, very happy with it, but the pioneer is still slightly jerky,

Is this just the quality of the pioneer is not waht i thought it would be ie not as good as the sony? (pioneer bdp330 sony bdp360)???

Thanks

Tim
