Hello From A Vinyl Virgin

Hello everybody,

I have reached the point where I want to collect vinyl. As you may guess from my username the National Treasure that is Ms Kate Bush has been a major influence in my decision.

I have bought the following units second-hand;

Turntable: Marantz TT5005, Amplifier: Marantz PM6003 & Speakers: Mission M33i.

My question is what kind of cables do you all recommend with this set-up please?

Also, is there a separate section for hi-fi & vinyl newbies? Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Just 'normal' ones. For speaker cables, I just use QED 79 strand, perfectly ample, imo.

I agree, just standard cables. Once you've got used to the set up, and maybe improved one of the items (the tunrtable is the weakest link, I suspect) then you might want to try some specialist cables to see if they are worth the cost to your ears. Many will say don't bother.

QED is a dependable brand, and offer 'regular' as well as 'super' lines.

Choose a cable a day, put money in the other pocket, change TT when you have the correct amount.*smile*
