So we moved in to a new pad about a week ago, and it had no TV aerial installed. The only connections available were for a Sky box, and so we decided to go freeview and sky box free. That means no TV licence, but also no BBC Breakfast. I just wandered if any others had experiences similar to this, as it seems to be something only possible in the last couple of years. Entertainment options:

1. Sony Smart TV options.

2. Blu Ray Player

3. Apple TV

4. A host of online content from iPhone to ATV, via airplay

5. HiFi

Seems plenty but we shall see...

I'm sure you will still need a TV licence...............

It's my understanding that a TV license is only required if you are watching live content, which we wont be.

Thanks, Steve. I didn't think you did. Was temtped by YouView, but what is on their that isn't on an iPlayer of some sort I'm not sure I want to watch.

You don't need a licence to use the BBC iPlayer so long as you don't watch anything live.
