Hi guys, apologies if this has been covered before but i'm a noob.

Just purchased a onky 606 and buying the Panasonic DMP-BD30 later, and im looking at HDMI cables (QED Perf Chord Silver etc).

The question is, should I bother getting a v1.3 cable(both support it)? My TV is a Bravia 40" 2000W and i've heard that its not worth it as the tv doesnt support the depth of colour...

Any ideas?

I have the same tv and it doesn't support 24fps but it's still worth buying a decent 1.3a cable. Automatic lip sync and all that jazz comes through the 1.3a and Bluray or so I understand.

Would you be looking at some point to run the BD30 into an amp to get hi-def audio? If so, I would get a 1.3 certified one as you'll need this to bitstream the audio to the amp.

Thanks for the replies guys. Im looking at hdmi from BD30 into the 606 and then hdmi out to the Bravia. The 606 will be pumping audio to a kef2005.2 system so i guess it will be worth it

Without starting a mass debate, choice of cable?!

It will start a debate but there you go. I have the QED Performance and the SR hdmi cables - both are fine - I tested them against a £15 one a while back and the difference was neglible but better all the same. However, this was just on picture. As the prof said, and others ignore, the 1.3a comes in handy for Bluray duty.

Cheers Gerrard, I know it seems that there are one or two opinions out there about it. The QED Performance is looking favourite if this is 1.3a compatible...
