HDD OK but HDD recorder dead - recovery?

Hi - my HDD recorder is fried, but the hard disk itself is fine, only when put into a windows PC, it just shows as unpartitioned. Are there any recovery tools that will read/copy all the programs I had recorded onto it?

Depends. Some HDD recorders will only allow you to put in a particular type of hard drive, so recovering the one you've got will be the best option. Google "hard disk recovery" for software - you may wish to do a free download first to see if it says it will be able to recover before paying good money (could be fifty quid and up). Tricky bit could be working out what kind of disk it is though - if it's a Linux disk, you might need different software.
