If I connect a blu ray player to my Sony DAV-DZ 260 homecinema via opitcal lead; will the unit then play Dolby and DTS HD audio through it's speakers?

With the blu ray player decoding HD audio, I wonder if then the audio stream would pass through to the units speakers.

I'm considering either a Playstation 3 or a Samsung BD-P1400 for BD

No, you can't send HD audio through an optical lead.
