Hi everyone,
I am currently having a problem with my last Grado SR225i headphone which is the exact same problem I had with my previous SR80i. The right speaker of my Grado SR225i is working awfully since a few days, with a low volume it seems to work fine but if you try to rise the volume, bass will begin to sound distorted and if you continue to rise the volume (not to an extreme value, to a normal listening value, at least for me) the right speaker will give a really bad sound to finally stop working.
I had exactly the same issue with my SR80i (also right speaker) but 1 year and a half after purchasing them. I was so satisfied with these SR80i that I decided to upgrade to SR225i but with them it took only 3 month to get this issue.
I have still a shop warranty for the 225 but I want to understand from where this issue could come from to be sure to take care of it.
For information most of the time I used these headphones with a Cowon S9 player (using a Grado jack 6.35mm/3.5mm adapter with the SR225i). I have also tried both headphones on a lot of different devices with the same result. I usually take a lot of care with my electronic equipment so I don't think that external damages were done to the cable or the headphone itself. And this could not explain why I have the exact same issue with the SR80i and the SR225i
I know that this issue has already been reported to this forum some times but no answers was provided to understand what could cause this issue so if anyone has a new input I would appreciate if they could share it with me.
Thank you
