Good Time to buy a TV?

With 4k TVs coming out in numbers soon.

All the uncertainty with other technologies.

Is it the worst time in a long time to buy?

I would say it's a bad time to buy a tv at this time of year unless you are looking at last years bargains, with tv's coming out soon summer would be a good time to buy as the tv's have been out a while and the price would have dropped a little in price.

It's always a bad time. First you wait for widescreen, then you wait for plasma, then you wait for OLED, then you wait for 3D and now we wait for 4K. Just accept that whatever you buy will be out of date in a few years and then dip your toe in the water.

I saw a 4K Samsung in Dubai last week. Stunning picture, even if the test disc was all 'David Attenborough' type wildlife.

Personally I'm not convinced by the whole 4K thing, but that's just me

You're not telling me that you'd buy a Bush tv are you, after all the trouble you've had recently.

All depends on what you're looking for. If its a relative bargain then yes. A future proof TV then no - but is there any such thing?

Over a year ago now but got a Panasonic TXP50G30B for GBP540 and, apart from IR when playing Tiger Woods 13, I am a very happy man.

Hi,

Not really in a massive rush to buy a Tv just moved house and want a bigger screen.

I have a samsung C8000 so prob look at a similar sort of price range.

Just seems there a lot of uncertainty at the moment. A lot of divided opinion.
