I've just been reading Musicraft's profile on here. An absolute forest of kit and knowledgeable too. Open 9am til 9pm monday to saturday and til 4.30 on a sunday. I didn't think that proper retailers like this existed anymore. Good for you Musicraft!!.

You been living in a cave or something? There's still plenty of them around.

And you with the same name as a well known retail outlet here in Ireland...?? It's a cunning plan but I smell a rat !!!

No. I wasn't being sarcastic and yes, I know there are quite a lot of them about but not open 7 days. Most close on a monday or on a tuesday and very few that I've seen over the years have access to what this one's got.

You're right. I need to get out and see these specialists as opposed to the boxsellers that we all know exist.

Andrew Everard:As ricardo65 said above, shouldn't you be getting your marketing department to do this for you?

Probably something to do with the fact that I am the marketing department but as you know, I've been a little bit busy lately Andrew

i take your point richard, there is not a hifi shop open here in manchester city centre on a sunday. i respect that staff deserve time off like the rest of us but i am often busy on saturdays and have ended up buying cables etc off the bay just cos i cant get to the dealers when they are open

Ricks a great guy who must work more hours then anyone i know, and as Richard said, very knowledgeable. i've always had great service from my local shops, but being honest, i don't think any of them have a clue how kit actually works.

You see where I'm coming from then. As a manufacturer, I hae loads of products that I've developed and, to take Frank Harvey as a case in point, Spon lane if memory serves, my visits (2) were fruitless. But you have to see it from the shops side of things.

Retail premises are hellishly expensive which means square footage for product becomes competitive. The retailer has to realise a return/ square foot of display space so will be 'picky' in what is stocked. This is a fact, not a condemnation. All retailers (good one's like Frank Harvey anyway) have to do this sum. They can't afford to display non moving stock.

You are right Richard - all stores have to take this into account. We have to be extra careful as we have a large number of products on demo, more so than many other retailers. Some products work for us in store but not on the web, and vice versa. If it doesn't sell in head to head demos, it goes!

Jeez, get real, there is nothing special about working 7 days a week in 2010, most self employed and bosses do it all there life, I wished I had a day off or holiday.
