Hi ya!
Can I please pick some brains and put my mind at rest? I'm close to buying a new 50 inch telly to replace my 42 inch plasma and I'm hoping to save a few quid and use my current TV stand. It's a 3 glass shelf stand and has a stated max weight limit of 40kg. Do the maximum weight limits normally apply to the top shelf that supports the telly or is it the combined weight of all the equipment on the rack? I know that may be hard to answer for sure as it may vary product to product but I'm really struggling to find an answer online and wondered if there was a general rule? The weight difference between the two tellys is only 2kg at the new telly at 30kg is well below the 40kg limit of the stand but I also have a surround sound amp, centre speaker, xbox, sky+ box and blu ray player (all totally approx 25kg) on the rack which exceeds that amount. I'm guessing the weight limit refers to the top shelf and the cylinder legs won't buckle under the extra 2kg but I'm still worried about destroying all my toys in one go!
Thanks a lot for any help!
