I've recently bought a Thorens TD-150 deck on ebay. Unfortunately, the deck was damaged in transit. I got a significant rebate, but I'd like to see if the deck can be repaired.

Visible damage is bent motor spindleand cracked cover. Not sure what else might be damaged, so I want it inspected.

Any recommendations? (Note: I'm paying for this so I want a competent professional not an enthusiastic amateur)

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Gareth but I would have thought that if it was insured then the full amount should have been claimable from the couriers that delivered the deck.

I am not too sure about professional repairs as this may cost more than the deck itself is actually worth. Perhaps your best bet is to find another on eBay (I see there is one there) and use what you currently have as spares.

This propably does not help a great deal, I know.

Without having the deck inspected, it's difficult to know what else was broken: that's why it needs to be inspected :)

Like I said, I got a significant rebate on the price. I was happy with this as I got the deck quite cheaply in the first place.

Thanks for your responses.

Gareth

PS sorry for the slow response: I didn't get an alert to say somebody had responded.
