Funk Achromat

Is anybody using this on their t/table? Does it make an appreciable difference to the sound? Thinking of getting one, but would like to get opinions first if this would be a worthwhile upgrade.

Hasn't anybody on this forum used the Achromat?

you could try the vinyl engine, brilliant site for all things analogue, all i can say is i have used different mats and there are small differences in sound but very subtle, with an AR TT i would have thought the felt mat to be optimum.

Never tried one, but very well reviewed and if your spinning a metal plater by all accounts should be very good.

Thanks Gregory and Shooter69. I did manage to get hold of one and try it out but did not hear any differences when compared to the original felt mat. In fact I preferred the felt mat as the sound with the Achromat was a bit subdued. This mat may not be a good match for the AR but might work better on other t/tables.

I have used one myself and there is a small sound difference, and not bad for the cost either.
