i'm really tempted by freesat but have read/heard a few negative vibes about how great the HD content will be. As i have no Sky it looks like at least £200 to get it . My question is - is it worth purchasing to get the most out of my new pana px80 ? i can't get cable in my area and for various reasons refuse to fund Murdoch and get sky . I've heard freesat will mainly benifit those who get poor or no freeview reception ,and the whole HD thing is overhyped. Any news ?

There's certainly not a wealth of HD content at present - just BBC HD for now (a few hours a day, with more content due) and ITV HD allegedly in time for Euro 2008 (when the two broadcasters share rights to the games). They will, it's assumed, be joined by Channel 4 HD later this year, then other free-to-air HD channels as/when they become available.

On the plus side, the HD content looks and sounds great via the one Freesat HD box we've tested so far (see review here).

Cheers Clare , i read the review of the box and think i'll wait a while till better deals an more channels appear . However the Euro 2008 is a big tempter .

well in
