Hi,

I have freesat from Sky but the only way i can see to be able to record onto a PVR is to subscribe to Sky+ and pay a min £18 a month. Is there an alternative? How do other freesat from sky users record??

By the way I can't get freeview here so that option is out!

You've got four options......

1. Subcribe to Sky's minimum s package, which as you stated is £18 pcm.

2. Pay Sky £10 pcm, just for the recording facility.

3. Connect your Sky box via scart to a DVD recorder/VCR, though obviously you wont have the Sky+ facilities, i.e live pause/rewind,simultaneous recording of two channels etc.

4 Ditch the Sky box for a "Freesat" PVR, which will give you all the + facilities.

Though you wont have access to Sky3,Fiver,Fiver+1,Five USA and Five USA+1 and 4HD(if you have an HD box) as these are all FTV(Free to View) channels and us such are encrypted, so cant be received without a Sky box/viewing card.
