If you like it it is good, an expert can tell you the best way to go, but not what to like or not maybe you just need to increse the Sub's input level.

my denon tends to kill the sub and put it at -12db, I found it better to put the Frequency at 80Hz on centre and surrounds and raise a bit the sub's level input, i too would go for 80Hz and leave the sub handle the lower level

There is a pro way and the consumer way.

I go down the consumer route, I listen then I set.

I was told 80hz, but feel the sub is best at 100hz.

And was told to set my TV a certain way, but I didnt like it, so I set it my way.

What I am trying to get at, everyone... And I mean everyone's ears and eyes are different, and what you think is amazing I might say is dull.

But who is watching the Tv at the end of the day?

Yeah, to coin a phrase it's what ever sounds better at the end of the day to the listener, I personally prefer my sub at 100hz, I find it's more punchy in my set up.
