I auditioned the Focal Elear with Auralic G2. The bass had an artificial tonality, which made it impossible for me to spend the money. Listened to, among other music, The Police.

The Elear with stock pads has issues. Boosted bass at the expense of a hole in the upper mids / lower treble. If you put Clear pads on it the Elear becomes an Elex ( https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-focal-elex-headphones ) though and it becomes a very, very good headphone. Focal won't let Massdrop ( Drop ) sell the Elex outside the US though. But you can make your own by adding the ( very expensive ) Clear pads.
