I bought a £10 aerial off the bay and hell it has worked vrilliantly. Mind you it's much bigger than I expected. It's one of these and it has boosted my signal so that it sounds great rather than a bit dodgy.

Good for you! I have the same one (bought from Maplin a few months ago). For me, it made the difference from not having any reception at all to having reception, but the noise (constant background hiss) is still very annoying, especially on BBC3. I live in a very old house with very thick walls, so I guess I should be happy to have any reception, but I have to say that the quality of radio via my Freeview tuner is way better. I guess only a proper roof aerial will bring improvement here.

What's it like if you don't use the signal booster?
