Never having owned a PVR I don't know but I'm curious - if it is connected to a PC via an Ethernet connection, is it possible to arrange for all the recordings on the HDD of the PVR to be managed by a directory / file structure similar to a PC ??

Very few official/platform specific PVR's offer network facilities, other than to connect to the web for iplayer etc,so not really sure what you're asking...

Ah !

I'd assumed - obviously incorrectly - that as it was connected to my network via the router I would be able to see the HDD in the PVR on my PC, and be able to create a folder structure for storing programmes that had been recorded.

Shame

I don't think it's a common feature to be honest, and not sure if any do this currently, though I think technically it would be possible.

I've got a Sagem which allows import / export of files over USB. It reads / writes FAT32 which a PC will understand but for it's internal drive all the file manipulation is done via it's interface and it appears to store files that would be too large for FAT 32.
