Hi there, My copy arrived today however, there are xerox like burns on pages 81 and 88 where the writing is not legible. I don't know if anyone has experienced the same problem. I can send you a scanned version if required.

How do I go about getting a replacement?

Given that you have it so early, I assume it's a subscription copy.

Apologies for the printing problem, and if you call 08456
777 813 or email Whathifi@servicehelpline.co.uk our subs people will arrange a replacement.

Thanks Andrew - just surprised it got through the quality control side, I shall contact them on Monday!

Got mine as well and it has the same problem. Any chance the Olive 4HD review can be posted online as the District 9 review (on page 89) already has been? Otherwise I'll give the subscriptions line a call tomorrow.

Apologies for this folks. Sounds like there's been some sort of printing error. Will check as soon as we're all back in the office on Monday.

Same problem for me also (as well as the postman having had a slight chew on my copy as well !) - in the interests of saving the environment etc would be happy for the Olive review to be posted online (found the District 9 review thanks) rather than you send out loads of replacement copies for the sake of 2 columns. Cheers.

Mine has the same problem as well. If you can post the reviews online, I'd be happy to read them on the website rather than waste paper on a completely new magazine for the sake of 2 pages.

Well i've randomly opened three of the boxes of new issues we have here, and all are OK - but then subscribers get the very first copies to come off the printing presses, so I'd suggest there was an early printing issue that was soon spotted and resolved (but sadly not resolved soon enough for those early copies!) I will flag it up to the printer....

Apologies for that. The District 9 review is already online; we'll get the Olive review online later this morning.

Just received my copy 5 mins ago, mine is perfectly okay

Mines okay.

Unfortunately, the method Haymarket adopt to print their mags sometimes imperfections can occur.

The usual method for lithographic printing is known commonly as "sheet-fed". This is normally used for short-medium runs. However, due to the shear numbers printed by Haymarket they use a method known as "WEB printing" (not related to computers). This allows the print machines to run at twice the speed (potentially) of sheet-fed. Consequently, the machine "minders" can miss the odd page or paragraph.

The joys of the printing industry.

Hi, Could someone tell me how the philips 40 9704 tv review went please.

Thanks

I'm assuming the_lhc means his copy hasn't arrived from Royal Mail's finest yet....

And gel - why not subscribe and then you wouldn't have to wait to read the reviews (unless your postperson is as useless as the_lhc's...)?

Oh yeah, that'll be it! I tell you what did arrive though, my road tax AND a replacement driving license, all within 3 working days of me doing the business online, kudos to the DVLA, their online system REALLY works, I wasn't expecting the license for at least a week yet, especially given I couldn't give them my previous license or driver number, but nope, all present and correct as quick as you like.

That'd be impressive for a private enterprise, but for a government department it's astonishing!

Andrew Everard:Apparently he used to subscribe, but all he got this year was this lousy T-shirt. Or something...

What's this apparently stuff, I been thinking and I have subcribed 3 times for the yearly subscription from what i can remember, just popped into Smiths not a what hi fi in site not even the old one.

So please can someone give me a heads up.

It's likely the January issue is sold out, and the February issue is on sale later this week. Patience, Herr Gel...

That's scant consulation!

Yep, January issue often sells out (it's typically our biggest-selling issue of the year); Feb issue on sale by Wednesday.

Perhaps not, I was just so amazed at how quick it was I had to tell someone! I'm less impressed that I've now got a de facto id card, I'd been holding out with my old paper license as long as possible, but once I realised I'd lost it I couldn't do much else.
