faulty onkyo 576 ???

I have been setting up my new onkyo 576

and in speaker setup it can see rear left and stops the setup

if iswap rear right and left at the amp it still cant see rear left

is it a fault or is it me

I have played a dvd and all speakers including the left are working

so why does the mic set up not work

is it a configuration problem ?????

If you're setting up a 5.1 system, you need SURROUND LEFT and RIGHT, not surround BACK. ÿApologies if you're already doing that.

so do i connect the speakers to the SURROUND LEFT and RIGHT terminals

Front left, front right, surround left, surround right, center (sic) + subwoofer in the row above. ÿThe surround back (L + R) terminals are only for 7.1 set-ups. ÿMaybe you're doing that, but there are plenty of posts in various forums due to the set-up failing because those are being used by mistake.
