Equivalent Audio.

Does anyone know an equivalent audio source to Dolby Digital as i've decided to hook my Sky HD box to my Onkyo 905 the PQ is way superior to anything the Sky box can muster, therefore i lose DD on HD channels normally sourced thru an optical link and as there is a plethora of listening modes via the Onkyo its difficult to assess which comes close. I would greatly appreciate any advice from anyone who has done the same or an expert opinion.

You don't have to lose Dolby Digital just because you are using the HDMI cable.

You need to plug your optical cable into the Onkyo 905 and then go into the setup menus to assign the Optical In as the preferred digital source for the Cable/Sat input. Make sure that the Sky box is set to Dolby Digital too.
