I think that the word 'affordable' for something that's north of a grand is, for most of us, a bit of a misnomer.

It's a shame the price has gone up a bit on these. I got it when it launched just over a year ago for the £899 launch price direct from Epson and it's an awesome projector at that price. Its very flexible in where it can be positioned thanks to the zoom and both vertical and horizontal lens shift. I've got it on a shelf at the back of the room projecting on to a 120" screen. Colours and brightness are great, and it supports both HDR10 and HLG which is awesome. The only thing I wish it had is SPDIF out like Optoma projectors have, instead I've had to buy a hdmi audio splitter to connect my laptop/Xbox Series X to my surround sound system. Both HDMIs are version 2.0(4k 60hz) but doesn't support ARC.
