I was on the superfi website today and to my amazement, these brilliant speakers have now been reduced from £535 to £350.

I've given them a demo in the past and felt that they performed incredibly well for what they were worth.

Not only are these speakers musical, dynamic, and detailed but are also able to deliver very punchy bass.

These are in a different league to the B&W 685s altogether, not in my opinion, but a fact.

They are however are on the bright side with abit of a spiked treble but get the matching right and you will be greatly rewarded as What Hifi mentioned. I would advise using Atlas speaker cables over Chord Carnival Silverscreen since they lack bass and are alittle lifeless in terms of sound quality.

I feel that they also work very well with the Marantz PM6003/CD6003(£250 each)/PM8003/SA8003 but suffer from alittle brightness, there will be no trace of brightness if you switch the amp to a Roksan K2(£800). The Roksan however will retain the sound signature and qualities of the Marantz but will take it a step even further. The matching K2 CD player would also work very well, but won't be to everyone's liking since the treble is more heavily emphasised than Marantz's offering.

I didn't feel that there was anything significantly better for the money untill you reach £1300+ for a pair of speakers (Dynaudio Focus 140, which I currently own).

I'm sorry if I sound as if I'm promoting the product but I feel that they deserve to be mentioned, especially given the price for what it is being sold for right now. Don't disregard these speakers just because it didn't get a 5 star review from What Hifi. Give these a demo, it has my word of approval, you won't be disappointed providing that you follow my advice on what speaker cables, amp and cd player you use it together with.

I feel as if I've lifted something off my chest now that I'm done.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the speakers. I'm actually really tempted in buying these speakers despite owning my Dynaudio's for only just a week too =P

So, if I'm reading this correctly, you're suggesting the Epos boxes are better than the 685s and if you own a Marantz set-up, buy the Epos speakers and get rid of the amp and buy a K2 instead. That's a fact apparently...? Wouldn't it just be better to - if you like or have the Marantz kit - buy a speaker that's better suited to them?

There's a bunch of speakers out there that do "musical, dynamic, detailed and punchy bass" - so much so you can trip over the recommendations on this site for them given there's so many, so this isn't a new phenomenon here.

I'm sure they're good speakers and that's a decent price, but for the same reasoning (and around the same money) there's EB Acoustics, Arcaydis, Q Acoustics, KEF and a fair few others with good products that would fit the bill as well potentially.

Wow, that's a really good price! I also notice that they're selling the M22i for £650. Margins must've been very healthy.

Ah yes, the M12i special offer price is for Maple.
But the M22i's can be had in Maple or Red Cherry at the special offer price, as can the M5i's.

Wow, never seen a thread that speaks highly of EPOS before. Glad to hear there are others who share the same opinion as me with regards EPOS speakers.

Epos speakers are great - i have some M5's before my Neat Motives and i still think they are the best in the price bracket (i got them for £175 new) and i have them as part of my 2nd office system.

I prefer the Epos to B&W at the price range they now compete in following the offer.

I used to have the M5's with creek amp, and it sounded great. Epos make great speakers, but unless paired correctly, they can be quite lean.
