Where to start......."OMG!"?

Just hooked them up. Still sitting with a big grin, listening to Plan B - She said. They are on my TV cabinet and I can't imagine how they'd be when the stands arrive. Until then, I'm not going out again

and i don't care if anyone says there are no reasons why they should, no scientific explanation etc, they just sound better.

i say try them for yourselves and let your ears decide, and only then will you know for sure

Rosewood ;)

I asked for it specifically as the shop only shows the black finish in their webshop

It's as if I'm finally allowed to enjoy music again, compared to having floorstanders in this room. Enough bass to fill room without overpowering. Coherence along the frequency range. Dancing guests is all thats missing now

I wonder how hey compare with my Audience 52SEs?

I do like the look of the smaller 2/6s...

The 52SE's used a far higher spec bass/mid driver, and would be quite a step up in terms of quality, although the 52SE's would benefit from better amplification than the 2/6's would need.

What would be the modern-Dyn equivilent to the 52SEs?

I don't think there is one. One or two standmount models from other ranges may exceed them in certain areas, but I found the 52SE's a far better balanced speaker than many other Dynaudio's.

Doesn't the sound become to smooth/soft when you use Dynaudio speakers with Marantz amps ?

I had that in mind having seen some comments on that. But no, actually. At least not as soft as Lektor 6's I had

Compared to the B&W 685, is the dynaudio 2/6 a superior option? In sweden they are at the same price.

Thanks for the answer.

My local dealer recommends rotel 04se for the 2/6 over the marantz 6003. Would you agree on this?

Hi surferpat

Yes, but i would also recommend the superb NAD C326BEE and Yamaha A-S500 over the other two with the DM 2/6's.

All the best

Okay! The only problem is, I cant demo the dyns with NAD i sweden.

Is the main reason power(w)? why you prefer them over the rotel?

Hi surferpat

The main reason i prefer the NAD C326BEE over the Rotel RA-04SE is because the NAD is more musical as i've found the C326BEE to have greater verve and flow to its sound. This and the better quality of power of the C326BEE enables this amplifier to ultimately offer a superior overall match with the DM 2/6 speakers :)

All the best

I was a big fan of the Rotel RA-04 but the new version RA-04SE is too aggressive sounding. I also prefer the NAD. It's more musical and the music has a flow that is addictive.

Thanks for a specific answer :)

With that said on the NAD. Would you also prefer it with a B&W 685 combo over the rotel or is it just for the dyns?

Re: RA-05SE vs NAD C326BEE

Have to concur with FrankHHifi there: I'd prefer the Rotel over the NAD to power the Dyns. I owned the C326BEE and while it was pleasantly smooth, it couldn't exert enough grip on my SCM11's cones which exposed a slight flabbiness in the NAD's mid-bass. Through a smaller Spendor standmount, it was flatteringly concealed. While the 2/6's cone isn't that large or heavy, it is best to opt for an amp with a tighter sound. I heard an RA-05 and it doesn't suffer from the mid-bass looseness of the C326. That's the way I'll go if I had a DM2/6 to fix up. :glasses:

btw is the DM2/6 an Excite X12 in a cheaper vinyl cabinet? I like the X12 and wouldn't mind having the DM2/6 as a toy if it offers much of the X12's sonics. :) And I'll take it in black. 8)
