Dumb cabling question

There are lots of posts on here about cabling. The one thing that is never discussed is the effect that the binding posts and jumpers have. Surely, as the signal passes from the amp binding posts, down the speaker wire and to the speakers themselves, its the binding posts you are hearing if you bi-wire, and the binding posts and jumper if you single wire? And if not, why not?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Most manufacturers these days use fairly high-grade metals for their posts, usually gold or silver plated to increase conductivity. With most speakers, the solder joint or spade terminal is directly behind the terminal plate, so the actual amount of metal that the signal has to pass through in the binding post is tiny. Same with jumper bars really- a very short run with negligible resistance will (should!) make no discernible difference to the sound.
