Digital To Analogue Convertor

Hello, as anyone heard of a dac that connects to your digital aerial / to a standard TV to receive a digital picture to the analogue TV instead of using a set top box, apologies for the question being a bit sketchy but I did hear there were a lot in America but I have not seen any here as and was wondering weather there was any advantage over a set top box. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No, such a thing would be a set-top box, converting digital TV signals to analogue for viewing.
