Devialet vs Hegel?

Has anyone heard both of these two brands? For example the devialet 120 and Hegel 160. What are the differences in sound? If you haven't heard the two brands, what would expect to be the differences?

Can't help, I'm afraid. I own a D200 and have heard it with lots of speakers, but I have no experience of Hegel.

Fairly sure that forum members SteveR750 (who has a Hegel) and IQspeakers have heard both. Maybe also Matt49 who i think owns a Devialet.

I think the d120 is about the same price as the h360.
Never heard the devialet but if you read the first 360 review 9n my hegel music systems forum the reviewer compares them in the how it compares section.
But that is only his opinion not yours

I'm affraid not heard the 360, yes the 160 and its very good. Heard the Devialet and yes that is also superb. The Devialet has many advantages in its flexibility and upgradability and future proofing. At this kind of money you really need to dem them both. The future proofing and the sheer stunning looks of the Dev might swing it for me though. Then agian all those caps in the brilliant Hegel might win out in the short term.

No no, way out of my price range, and not looking to upgrade, its just a fantasy. Was led to the idea of something like these after watching a video on utube of the ATC scm19, and they were being driven really well, just made me think what can be possible and maybe realistically.... One day!

I guess my question could just have easily have been, are these two amps in the same ballpark? And it seems they are.

Because the hegel h360 was way out of mine also. I sold my k2 and denon, put down a deposit then paid off the rest to get the 160 then when the 360 came out i sold on the 160 and worked 28 days in a row to get the extra 1000 i needed. Now ive got my kef r700s on ebay and have saved up some money to buy the atc scm40s.

My point is id never be able to walk into a hifi shop and audition hegel and atc and walk out the shop with them.

I will say now though, once i have the atcs thats me done for hifi no matter what comes out.

I do want to build a surround sound around the atcs though so might start saving for the c3c and surround amp after that. For rear speakers ill look at first gen atc scm11 or 7s

Fair play on the long stint at work, I'd be up for doing something similar for various shiny objects, but I'm trying to get fit an spending a month at work I fear would do the opposite for me, maybe a change of career is neededfirst, mmmm...career upgrade.

Sounds horrid. The only thing that tells me is how crappy the recording equipment and/or room is. I particularly liked the distortion 😛

They got ridiculas offers on hegel at musicraft atm.
I was looking for atc offers and saw all the hegel offers.
makes me upset in not buying one now. Could have had a almost free massive jl audio 1200w sub included.

Ive heard from other forum members that they are amongst the best
