Denon DCD-720 AE CD player with Technics SU-810 amp?

Hello!

My father owns an old Technics SU-810 and we are thinking about a Denon DCD-720 AE CD player for a gift, but I am not sure if a should worry about any compatibility issues (power?).

I guess is difficult, but I wonder if anyone has a similar setup.

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forum. Not sure why you referred to power as a compatibility issue, as long as the amp is still good then the 720 is a good, solidly built CD player and should last well.

You don't mention speakers I notice.

Thanks.

I know nothing about Hi-Fi, but from playing with electric musical instruments I know you have to take into account the resistance and power of the amp and speakers to avoid damage or bad sound.

Reading the specs of this CD player in some site (do not remember now) the power was mentioned, so I worried. I guess it is just the power consumption.

The speakers are an old JBL model and they sound great too.

JBL make some nice speakers right enough.

You are probably right about it being power consumption. Should all go together well. It's a good CD player, got one for my brother not long ago, and he is very happy. :)
