Denon AVR 2310 questions

Hi connected up a 1910 for auditioning but noticed a couple of problems. From what I've read in the bumf a 2310 might solve these, Can an owner of a 2310 please confirm?

1) 1910 cannot upscale from composite input to component output which I want to use as the sole input on my tv (crt - composite & component inputs only ). (yes I am looking at a samsung series 5 100hz full hd plasma. Lcds dont do it as yet for me for sport viewing )

2) My phillips dvd recorder (dvr) has a hdmi output but this cannot be downscaled by the 1910 to component for output to my tv so I have to use the dvr's component outputs.

3) The dvr has coax digital audio out which I input to the 1910 as does my sat decoder. The dvr only has analog audio in though. The problem is that the audio outputs from the 1910 can only come out in the format in which they were received i.e. digital in digital out / analog in analog out.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I am not aware of any AV amps that can downconvert HDMI to anything.

Answered my own question in the end got the 2310. . It wont downscale HDMI however it will downscale Component, SVID etc, as well as upscale Composite / Svid, to Component or HDMI. I can now watch all of the following in componenent using only 1 input to the TV & switching through the amp inputs - analog set top decoder (MNET) , my dual view satellite channels (DSTV), my dvd recorder, DVD player and PS 2. Pictures all look great. I have an idea I want to try out for the dital audio to analog output story will let you know if it works.
