Hi,
I recently pulled an old amplifier out of storage and it's got an issue I'm hoping someone could help with.
The amp is a Denon PMA-250III (bought 1994) and hasn't been used for around 10 years. I plugged it in a couple of days ago and hooked it up to my speakers / CD payer, but when I pressed play, I only got sound out of the right speaker. After a few mins of playing music, the left speaker came in, at first quietly, and then full volume. After this the amp sounded normal. After listening for a while I powered the amp off, left it for an hour or so and then tried again, with the same problem. I discovered today that if I turn the bass tone control to max the left channel starts working again more quickly.
The issue isn't with either the speakers, CD player or cables / connectors, as all this gear has been running fine with a different amp for years. I've also swapped the speakers over, so I know it's specifically just the left channel of the amp that is affected.
So, does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
