Hi all!
I am struggling to get the best out of my Denon 2310. I am using it with the Kef 2005.3 speakers and Panasonic BD35 blu-ray player.
I have run the Audyessy auto setup (a number of times now to allow for run in on items) and it measures the distances very accurately. Where I'm having trouble at the moment is what setting to have on when watching blu-rays/dvds. I initially went straight to the pure direct mode after reading it gave the best sound quality but I have been advised that this may damage the speakers as it changes the settings to 'large speakers' when they are classed as small.
I then tried just turning off the Audyssey and Dynamic EQ options which sounds flat and 'lifeless' when watching movies.
However if I leave the Audyessy MultiEQ and the Dynamic EQ turned on the sound is much more exciting but very basey and the rears are too loud. Even when I try to lower the channel level of the rears it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I am new to home cinema game and to be honest don't really know where to begin trying to do a 'manual' calibration. I have read Batpig's Denon-to-English website and I have considered getting a sound pressure level but am worried I'll just end up with another bit of equipment I don't know how to use properly!
Does anybody have any suggestions or advice? Are there companies that will come out and perform a manual calibration using the right equipment?
Equipment wise, are there any components I should look at changing? The Denon gets great reviews so I feel i should stick with that at the core, but were the speakers a poor choice? Would an upgrade of blu-ray player with better sound capabilites help?
Sorry to fire so many questions out there but any help would be much appreciated as it's starting to get to me now, after saving for a long time and spending a lot of money and not being happy with it, (but I'm sure it's the user and not the equipment that's faulty!)
Thanks a lot!
