Bearing in mind I can get the Denon 2808 for £400 (originally £900) and the 1909 for £450, which is the best? I only need 2 HDMI sockets.

Thanks in advance

Hiya

I don't think the AVR-1909 has pre-outs so you wouldn't be able to use your MF for the fronts.

The 2808 by a mile. I actually contacted Denon to find out whether the 2309 is as good as the 2808 and was told that the 2808 was clearly better. From that you can see the answer. I would have bought the 2808 already if RS had them in black for that price but they only have silver.

Thanks very much for your replies. I have reserved one at my local Richer sounds (plymouth) and they even agreed a trade in on my old Denon 1906 (I am swapping it for 2 QED HDMI-P leads!). How sad that the old receiver is only worth the same as 2 metres of wire!!

Thanks again for the reassurance that the 2808 is a good deal.

Hi Will

It is such a step up from my previous AV receiver (Denon 1906). ÿI have posted a question about setting up the picture.

Thanksÿ
