I've got an Arcam Solo Mini and a Roku Soundbridge M1001. My music is currently ripped at a variety of rates, but I'm slowly re-ripping at higher rates.

Will I notice a difference by putting a DAC between the Arcam and the Roku? I'm guessing you'll all say yes. Will the difference be noticable at all bitrates or only above a certain rate? Optical or Coax?

If yes, do I go for a V-DAC, DACMagic or Beresford?

Thanks all!

Also have a Roku M1000 but psu blown. Is it worth getting a new psu and using this unit instead, as I gather it doesn't have the same 44.1 to 48 conversion issues? Thoughts?

I'm saying maybe. The key is ripping accurately to lossless, and if the Roku has even a half decent DAC, you're 80% of the way there. An external would add the last nuance of detail and soundstaging, but may be overkill in the context of your system - try before buying if you possibly can.
