Cyrus CDSE and DAC?

Hi Everyone!,

I'm new here although I’ve been lurking for years..

So a bit of advice please if you don’t mind as DACs are a whole new world to me...

My current setup is a Cyrus CDSE with Audion Sterling KT88 driving B&W 805s.

So, I'm slowly coming around to the fact that with the advent of FLAC and Apple Lossless, CDs are ageing...

I'm considering a separate DAC, preferably from the Cyrus range but would any of the Cyrus products allow me to play straight from a USB stick or external hard drive?

Also could I use the DAC with my CD8SE and would there be any benefit in this?

Many thanks,

Rich

Welcome to the forum.

Not cheap but what you need is Cyrus Stream Xa

Cheers

Thanks guys,

Also my amp only has one pair of inputs so if I were to connect the CD8SE to a Stream Xa then Stream Xa to amp?

Would this negate having to swap over inputs between CD8se and Stream Xa?

Thanks,

Yes you can connect the digital output from your 8CDSE to the stream Xa. As mentioned there are other cheaper options - I use a Sonos connect although it will not take usb input.
