How would i utilise the DAC in the XPD ? ie analogue or would it have to be optical/coaxial.

As stated in our Cyrus 8 XPD review, the DAC has five inputs: two coax, two optical, one USB.

Hi Claire,
What i mean is how do i get the best out of the CD7Q ? ; do i use a good analogue interconnect or do i need to connect the 8XPD via coaxial digital or optical to utilise the capabilities of the built in DAC ?

Coaxial (digital out) from CD 7Q to Coaxial (digital in) on 8XPD. This bypasses the CDP's own internal DAC and passes the signal to the DAC inside the XPD. Suggest you also use a digital coaxial cable rather than analogue interconnect cable. The interesting question is whether you will hear any difference between the older DAC and the newer DAC....?
