Controling my hi fi from another room

I have my hi fi set up in the living room with all my equipment being remote controlled. I have run some speaker cable into an extension I am building asI am going to operate a second pair of speakers in there. However, Is there a cheap and easy way to be able to contol my stereo from the extension without having to go into the living room. Any suggestion will be useful as I am able to run cables through teh extension as teh plasterboard is not fitted yet. many thanks

If you just want to control the CD player, amp etc. by remote try looking at the Marmitek Powermid system.

take a look at the logitech harmony range, believe you can add a rf extender so you can control your kit from upto a hundred feet away,

You can, but IIRC only with the top-end models, the 895 and 1000
