Connection Marantz MCR603 to Imac

I have recently purchased a Marantz MCR603 as a way of playing my music library that is currently sat on my 2 year old Imac.

I am now faced with the conundrum of how I connect the Imac to the 603.

As the Marantz will be in a different room to my router I cannot run an ethernet cable to it without purchasing some kind of wireless adapter (airport express ?)

The other option is to put the 603 close enough to the Imac to connect them directly but am unsure as to what the best option would be for cables.

I’m not as interested in the music server / internet radio abilities of the 603, and am willing to forgo these if the sound quality is better in connecting directly to Imac

I’m a bit new to all this so any advice would be greatly appreciated

I use Powerline adaptors to connect my iMac and my Marantz 603 with Airplay. Works well.
