Just wondered if someone could recommend a cheap unit for less than £100. It is only for background in the kitchen - FM (My current DAB unit is useless) CD and an input for my MP3 player (not i-thingie).

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Cheers

A budget of less than £100 for all the things you need may sound difficult. You may try to find second handed stuffs from the Bay. For amplifier/CD/FM(DAB) try Dennon 37DAB (older version) and Tannoy speakers. You may be able to get all the stuffs around £200 if you are lucky enough 🙂

If an all in one unit will do I'd suggest the Pure Chronos CD ii for about £80.

Thanks for that hint BenLaw, that would be perfect in my bedroom in place of my cheapo radio/alarm clock

No worries Dr L 🙂 I use the iPod dock version in my kitchen and the sound is more than acceptable, obviously it's designed as an alarm clock so should be ideal for you 🙂

I'm also now looking at the Robert Stream 83i which looks to be a step up:
