Hello , which cd player would be a best match witch Rotel ra06se ? Up to 500£ . At the moment I've got Cambridge Audio 340c running through Caiman DAC but it sounds a bit bright , so my next player should be more warmer . I've just bought Chord chameleon plus I have read about this interconnect it has a nice bass sound with very good detail So it maybe helps my sysytem sounds warmer . If You folks have got any advice please put it down I'll realy appreciate your help .

Kind regards Ivan

Hi Ivan

Rega's Apollo cd player should do the trick nicely 🙂 although at the same price Rega's DAC offers even higher levels of performance

From personal experience Arcam is a fab match with Rotel. You can pick up the CD192 for about £300.
Can't agree more.The Arcam Cd192 is a very good player.Very detailed and warm,I even prefer the Cd192 for vocals(mid)than my Naim Cdx2.

Its worth considering the Creek Evo 2 CD player and NAD C565 as well that you might get just within budget

I'd agree with plasticpenguin.

But a Rega Apollo is one of the smoothest players under £1k, and will remove the nasties that many other players don't.

Will the Rega Dac do the same ???

Hi Ivan

Your welcome.

Yes, the Apollo cdp will be a good match with your RA-06SE and i feel the Rega's performance justifies the premium over the CD6003. Please also bear Rega's DAC in mind 🙂

I was thinking about this last night and for what its worth i feel you should also look at the changing your 601S3 speakers in the first instance for a pair of Dynaudio's superb DM 2/6's. The DM 2/6's will give you the tonal presentation you're after and also offer an even better quality of performance in most areas compared to the 601S3's

I use the NAD C545BEE with a Rotel RA02 with superb results into Revolver RW16s. If the RA06SE is anything like the RA03, though, it could be a bit brighter. Didn't like the equivalent Rotel CD players.

It looks I'll get Apollo or Nad C545 BEE

just ordered chord chameleon plus interc. so I'll wait couple of weeks if no improvement I'll get new cdp. By the way my speaker cables (chord odyssey 2+jumpers) are about 5 days old

maybe that's why the sound is bright or no?

Thank you for suggestion about speakers I was also thinking about changing speakers . But it's very hard for me cos I just love them, it is special limited edition only 90 pairs out there so frst , I have to get out of them as much as I can

I am big fan of b&w's so in future I'll go for 685's hope 685 are better then 601's I need to go to the shop to make sure .

No doubt Dynaudios are superb speakers I have read only good things about them I'll keep it in mind .Thank You Rick

Hi Ivan

Your welcome.

The Dynaudios are indeed superb speakers however as you like your B&W's then carry on enjoying the performance of your 601S3's for a while yet 😉

The C545BEE and Apollo are both strong cd players (i've got them both) however the icing on the cake belongs to the Apollo. The Apollo has an excellent smooth and fast flow to its sound which is very reminiscent of Rega's record players 🙂

Btw, i wouldn't think too much about cabling.

All the best
