cd player / dac to go with Arcam a18 and B&W 684s

Suggestions please on a suitable cd player / dac set up to go with my Arcam a18 and B&W 684s.

Current cd player is an ancient (at least 15-year-old) Marantz that is gradually giving up the ghost.

Was considering the Arcam cd17 and rdac until I noticed the rave reviews for the Audiolab 8200cd, combining the dac.

No further upgrades planned in the short term.

Mainly listen to pre-60s jazz, jazz vocal, classical, piano.

Between 600-900 for both the cd and dac.

Unless it's the Audiolab, or a higher end CDP, I'd look at a cheaper transport and a better DAC. Stello's DA100 at around £650 with a decent disc spinner (Cambridge C350, Harman HD980, etc) will see you right. Checkout the options, but a £600 CDP and £300 DAC will offer little benefit I think.

I guess my priority is to have a decent CDP, so spending so much on a DAC isn't what I have in mind at this stage. I like the versatility of having a DAC but don't want to compromise the CDP.
