Does anybody use these and can you tell the difference?

Simple, but effective; these fit over all unused female jacks in your stereo/AV system, keeping RFI distortion out and your noise floor lower. Also prevent dust or oxydization of the contact area. Customers with larger systems should benefit in particular

are these a gimmick for ppl when they have nothing else to spend their money on or do they work?

They do work very well but I would suggest that they are most effective in a set-up which has a few dozen spare RCA sockets (my AV system has almost 100 for example) rather than just 2 or 4 in a simple system.

do you have them - main reason for purchase is intend to keep kit for a while now and my stuff seems to get a bit dusty at the back some times - 2 cats n a dog so thought would keep it out - will stick rest in back on onkyo and plug some holes
