Got the Monitor Audio RX6 and just purchased the NADC355 BEE amp today, was wondering if the amp can be bi-amped? There is no indiciation of this in the manual.

Thanks.

Sure. Buy a second C355, then remove the preamp/amp jumper. then run an RCA interconnect from the first C355 amps preamp out into the amp in jack on the the second amp. Now hook your speakers up to both amps. Only the first amp will control the volume and source switching.

Of course, the RX6 is not super ineffecient and the NAD C355 has plenty of power, so I think this would add complexity and expense for little or no gain is SQ. Just my opinion.

My suggestion would be buy a Beresford dac second hand or new and use that as a preamp with the NAD, it has had a huge benefit on my system.

Thanks Jax, think buying another amp is a bit OTT, don't think the wife would approve

I have some lovely Chord Company Silverscreen bi-wire/bi-amp speaker cable and seems a waste, another silly question for you, is there anything stoping bi-wire the NAD amp and speakers?

Thanks.

Ah... You mean can it be used to bi-wire?

Yes; you can bi-wire the M/A RX6's by removing the speaker cable jumper bars on the speakers and using the A outputs on the NAD to power the HF on the speakers and use the B outputs to power the LF's on the speakers.

Select A&B speakers on the NAD amp and you're laughing

If you wanted to 'bi-amp' then you'd need a power amp like the NAD C272/275 and then you can use your C355BEE integrated to power the HF's and the power amp to power the LF's

A DAC is somthing else I have thought of further down the line to improve my Sonos, but want to get a new set of Decks - either Pioneer CDJ 900 or 2000 and could do with a new AV amp, current one is a bit dated, it's all money, money, money :-(

Wow, what a great combnination, this is the first time I have bought anything blind in a long time, but the deal at Richer Sounds for the NAD was too good to pass, I have not been disappointed yet, the more I listen the better it gets.

So far I have listened to;

Black Eye Peas - boom boom pow, Alicia Keys - empire state of mind pt 2, Creed my - sacrifice

Then a bit of the following;

Tina Turner for the wife, Biify Clyro, The Monkees, One Replubic, Journey, Jamiroquai, The Police & The Killers.

Timing and bass is superb, especially the presence around guitars.

Away to get the speakers set up back with the AV amp to watch Lost, can't wait for tomorrow to get the NAD set-up properly for a good session.....it's going to be a good weekend

ear:Wich Av amp is it?

Got the Sony STR1200ES which I'll connect to the NAD using the Pre-Outs, the Sony was good for movies with my old Radius R225's which I replaced over a month ago for the RX6's, still pretty good now but I know the speakers can do a lot better with decent amplification.

For my next purchase stuck between getting the decks or the Denon AVR 2310, but when I get the cash raised will be based on my feelings at the time, keep changing my mind day to day on what I want - which aint good for the health as always spending my spare time on the forums to sway me either way.

if you have just bought the amp and had it less than a day, why do you want to bi amp? The nad amp has bags and bags of drive and power which will handle your relatively easy to drive speakers with minimal effort. Why not see just how good it is before spending possibly a few hundred quid on an unnecessary upgrade? Just a thought!

If you re-read above he got it wrong; he was asking about bi-wiring but mentioned bi-amping in error

Wanted to make the best of what I have, thought it would be straight forward to bi-amp just like with my AV receiver, but just as happy to bi-wire using my current speaker cables.

I have chucked all genres of music at the amp and speakers over the weekend from classical, country western, rock, pop, dance/house, r'n'b and hip hop, this system rocks

Even the wife now understands why I've been doing these upgrades, she didn't approve at first when I told her I was buying the amp, but she quickly changed her tune (no pun intended) when it got turned on for the first time.
